PRACTICE SIMULATED ATTACK SCENARIOS.
GAIN THE CONFIDENCE TO DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO PROTECT YOURSELF.
I’ve gained the tools to be more aware, less afraid, and pretty much a gal you don’t want to attack. I have never felt more empowered.
The Self-Defense for Women workshop is a one-day, intensive class designed to educate and empower women in Seattle. The workshop is offered every month at Outrageously Fit in Ballard.
Instructor Jordan Giarratano is a martial arts expert with nineteen years of experience. He has appeared on King 5, Q13 Fox and KOMO News to discuss self-defense. In this video he offers self-defense tips and techniques after a recent attack in West Seattle:
This 2.5 hour workshop is for women (age 15 and above) of all fitness levels and body types. This is not a workout class. You may break a sweat, but the focus is on self-protection, not aerobics.
Fighting Chance Seattle is committed to donating 10% of each workshop admission fee to King County Sexual Assault Resource Center to support their mission to eradicate sexual assault and violence from our communities.
If you or someone you know is the victim of assault, help is available to you. Visit their online Resource Center or call their 24 hour resource line: 888-998-6423.
Registration is required. To ensure that every participant gets the personal attention they deserve, our workshops are limited to eight students. Unlike other self-defense programs, you will work directly with the instructor and his teaching assistants, not with other participants. Private Lessons (single or group) and corporate workshops are also available contact Sensei Jordan for more info.
Our next session will be:
- Saturday, June 1, noon – 2:30 pm
